Boy meets hockey…

September 18th, 2006

Tim and I took Jack to the HSBC Arena Saturday morning to see the Buffalo Sabres unveil their new uniforms. Jack had a great time and didn’t mind the commotion of lights and BLARING METALLICA. That’s my boy.

I actually like the new uniforms. The navy blue is right up my alley and the logo, as hamsterish as it may be, does grow on you.

Tim has some video up…

Heard “50 Ways…” on the way in this morning so I put on his latest album “Surpise” which is so good. But there’s a song at the end that I had never heard before but I guess was nomited for an Oscar a few years ago for being on a Rugrats The Wild Thornberrys soundtrack. Anyhow, it’s called “Father and Daughter” but it I think of Jack everytime I hear it and always hits me the same way.

Father and Daughter
by Paul Simon

If you leap awake
In the mirror of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second
You can’t remember where you are
Just open your window
And follow your memory upstream
To the meadow in the mountain
Where we counted every falling star

I believe the light that shines on you
Will shine on you forever
And though I can’t guarantee
There’s nothing scary hiding under your bed
I’m gonna stand guard
Like a postcard of a Golden Retriever
And never leave till I leave you
With a sweet dream in your head

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loves his daughter more than I love you

Trust your intuition
It’s just like going fishing
You cast your line
And hope you’re getting a bite
But you don’t need to waste your time
Worrying about the market place
Try to help the human race
Struggling to survive its harshest night

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loves his daughter more than I love you

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loves his daughter more than I love you

This is more of a reminder for myself but I’m sure there are a lot of parents out there that would like this.

New Pics Up!

September 8th, 2004

It was a very busy summer for the fam and we have a ton of new pics to prove it. Check out the Gallery and catch up with Jack.

That was Jack’s first internet transmission over ICQ (like AOL Instant Messenger for sending text messages over the internet) to his Uncle Tim just a few moments ago. So proud we are. And now it’s time for lunch… this little life goes on.

Typing with one hand….

It’s amazing all the things you can do with one free hand and a baby in the other. New pictures posted today, so many more still to go up. Jack’s 10 weeks tomorrow. Baby talk starting, the jack we will come to know is starting to awaken – such a sweet little boy already. Aaron said you can just stare at them for hours and you can; we do. Alright, he’s getting heavy, enjoy the pics.

Sure, we’re all a month older now but for Jack, he’s just a month old now! Wow, that went fast. In that time we had Thanksgiving, grown a whole inch and a half and put on 3 pounds! I just posted 3 new galleries of the boy over here.

Jack is here!!

November 21st, 2003

Things have finally calmed down enough for me to update everyone and the good news. Jack was born on November 3, 2003 at 11:14 am and came in at 6.12 ounces and 20 inches. Everything went pretty well and mom and baby are doing great. See the Gallery for pics of this beautiful boy!
