Sit down, Maddy.

I’ve always been a big fan of Calvin and Hobbes, there’s something very Zen about that boy and his stuffed tiger. I still remember the final strip in the paper and it always takes me back.
But! Just in time for our first Christmas without snow (in recent memory), here are some of the best C&H snowman strips. Hope you get a kick out of them too. Merry Christmas!

Halloween is definitely a favorite holiday around our house. I didn’t even feel like carving pumpkins last night but I couldn’t let the spirits down and wound up carving a couple of beauties, I’ll post some pics later.
So much for Jack being a “jack-o-lantern” unless something happens in the next 7 hours… you never know I suppose.
Well, if you’re in the neighborhood, stop on by for some good candy, not that junk the neighbors hand out ;^)

Good Question. We ask the D this all the time and she definitely has no clue, neither do we. What went from imminent-labor has now moved on to an everything’s-cool-feeling-fine-probably-come-in-november sort of affair. I’m happy to report that Jen is feeling great, the room is practically done, which has her coming up with things for me to do like re-paint the freshly painted bathroom. But I honestly don’t mind, I’m quite the painter these days having gotten a lot of practice in the last 2 years, and the more I get out of the way now, the more I can spend doing other, cooler things when the baby does arrive.
The car seat went in the car yesterday, Officer Thorpe of the TTPD was nice and showed me how to install it correctly, which was good because the manual had my brain spinning. It’s pretty wild to be driving around with it in the backseat.
We would like to thank everyone who has helped us along the way so far with their gifts and/or support – we couldn’t have gotten this far without you.

I can’t believe a whole year has gone by already since the last one, but everyone’s favorite holiday is back again. I think I first heard about this 3 years ago and now you hear about this “holiday” everywhere. I heard a piece on NPR this morning and yesterday Humble & Fred interviewed the creators of TLAP Day.
It’s a fairly absurd thing to celebrate but it’s always good for people to just give in once in a while and just be stupid and talk like a pirate, ya land lubber! I’ve yet to find a really good reason not to.
For tips on how to improve your pirate-ese, check out these pages.
A now for something different, and speaking of absurdities, I want one of these.
