An Irish Toast
March 17th, 2005
It being St. Patrick’s Day and me being Irish, a toast:
A toast to your coffin.
May it be made of 100 year old oak.
And may we plant the tree together, tomorrow.
The Onion has posted a very infromative Irish Heritage Timeline for those not so familiar with our culture.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
Now Open: PJ’s Avenue Pizza
March 1st, 2005
My first paycheck job was working at a friend’s father’s pizzeria and I worked there for a few years making pizza. I made a lot of friends and consider it a great time in my life even if I was just spinning my wheels there. So the friends I made are what I take away from the experience and one of my best friends, Pat, has finally got his own place!
PJ’s Avenue Pizza (635-6500) opened for business today and I am humbled to have helped him with his website. Since I’m not much a designer, I’m a back-end guy, I did the best I could going just off the menu he had. I hope it helps!
So if you’re out by him on Millersport near the hotel and UB, give him a call and get yourself some ZA!
I’ll take “Quotable Quotes” for $200 Alex…
March 1st, 2005
I love a good quote. A good quote from a smart person is so much better than a long book by some self-help idiot anyday. A good quote can teach you a life lesson in a sentence or two; sometimes better then an actual life experience. Plus, for the short-attention-span set such as myself, it’s all there between the quotation marks to parse and remember, then a name with some credibilty follows making it a fact.
And so I would like to start a new category and go with a quote I lifted from my friend Geno’s email signature:
“I am neither especially clever nor especially gifted. I am only very, very
curious.” – Albert Einstein
